Has anyone investigated thermal coatings for
1) The outside body of Judson to increase heat transfer out of hte body
and
2) As a low friction coating on inside to lower friction and heat as the vanes spin around in the body?
Just wondering if it would be worth it to increase lonevity of the vanes and lower over all engine heat |

Yes I have. I had the chamber of my Judson coated with a dry film lubricant and it seemed to make little difference.
If you set-up your Judson correctly and it is in good shape you shouldn't have overheating problems.
The main wear factor on vanes is poor filtration allowing dust and fine particles to be drawn in and blown around the vanes at extremely high speed causing "airstream etching."
If you use a 40hp Judson look to eliminate the pre-heater element that allows a free flow of unfiltered air into the system; an og Judson design weakness. _________________ John.
