My Master cylinder decided to go retarded. All of a sudden my floorpans were wet and not with water. Blew that seal. So I got a new MC and replaced the old one and now a problem arises. Before this I didn't really have good brake light switches. I had to be pretty hard on the brakes to make the light come on. Now I just about have to have them locked up to get any light. New switches? I cleaned the old ones out with brake fluid but no use.

Also I have a wheel that's acting up. My front passenger wheel decides to lock up very quickly. This happened with both MCs, before and after brake adjustment and after brake bleeding. And both right/left have the same amount of brake left on the shoe. Where do I go next?

You need new switches and new ones are crappy.

The locking up may be due to the rubber lines. Old ones swell up inside reducing the diameter so when you apply the brakes the high pressure from the MC squirts it through but the lower return pressure takes a while to release the brakes.

Check the play in the pedal rod. There should only be about 3/4" before you feel the pedal (by hand) touch the rod in the MC. Adjust if necessary.

The brake light switches that I got from Auto Zone are working ok, the ones from BAP were crap. Pat
