Good thing the weather was perfect yesterday too, Herbie was kicked out of the garage most of the day because I was using it as a painting booth.

It's kinda hard to believe we've only put about 700 miles on Herbie this season since January but then again March and April were a total loss with all that is going on these days..... anyhow I wanted to get some gas and visit with my wife at lunch time Thursday so took a short little cruise.

I got the lady at the gas station to come out of the booth because she thought I was going in the wrong direction, lol. I said "don't worry I'm not filling up the trunk " lol. At least the kid I got with that last time was too young to know about these cars!

These are some of the best photos of Herbie. Taken during the foliage cruise by Laura Marie at passing bird photography. Copied from the CVA Facebook page. Another member posted these.

Yeah that was a real good day. We started at 8AM and got back around 4:30PM. Herbie performed well for such a long drive especially considering I really have not done much mechanically this year just an oil change. Even though we have been driving Herbie all winter we have only put on about 700 miles this season.

As for the cruise we had something like 42 cars! It was a little tough to keep together and got a little off track.

Maybe one last cruise for the year. Maybe I'll take Herbie out again tomorrow. We decided to take both cars out today.

I did manage to get in one last cruise, took it to work. Later on I noticed what sounded like a valve train type of noise. Turned out to be the generator pulley was loose. I Think I may have adjusted the belt a little too tight last time I adjusted it.

Well you see some really interesting things when out cruising with Herbie ! First it was a transfer case fell out of a truck being towed .

Then what looked like Knigt Rider ! He blinked his head lights at us and did a 180 and chased us down 😀

As seen at the 2021 CVA Last hurrah Sunday, this yellow beetle was still in primer when I brought Herbie to the same auto body shop, Woodys Auto Body in Westbrook CT. Same deal as I did he did the sanding and body work then Pete the owner shot the primer and paint .

And this rag top was in on the same deal for a respray just before the yellow beetle.
