Hello and welcome. You have good timing, your name recently came up here when some of us were wondering about the possibilities of running a front upper control arm ball joint spacer on a two wheel drive. I don't mean to put you in a situation you may not want to be in, but any info or thoughts you had would be great. Thanks.

Well you have good timing too. As a matter of fact I will be making some 2wd upper ball joint spacers this week. I already make them for the Syncro, and it seems that lifted 2wd's lack enough camber adjustment as well. These spacers will be the same, except a chamfer will be necc on the outer edge to let them fit the 2wd. I have a set of 2wd arms here for ''mock up fit''. We are also in the testing phase of our 2wd tubular upper control arms, there are pictures on our website, click on ''current projects''. These are for the guys that like to get as much lift as possible on a 2wd. I have been selling these arms for Syncro's for a couple years. The spacers have been working well with no problems, I supply 12.9 grade bolts with them. Of coarse for severe and harsh use conditions we reccomend installing our tubular arms instead of spacers. It seems if you put 2'' or more lift the camber problem presents itself. How much lift does your van have? Thanks Burley www.burleymotorsportsdirect.com |

Hi, sorry I dont have a 2wd version right now,but I will sell just the steering shaft gaurd piece seperatly and I can tell you when I was working for Seth how we did our spare tire mod. we were cutting the hindge point off of the subframe, flipping them over and welding them back on,to lower the hindge point of the clamshell, then we cut about 1 1/2'' off of the outside of the clamshell, this lets the tire fit in it, then we added about 1 5/8 to the front where the bolt goes through, this can also be done with a spacer and a longer bolt, and we installed the steering shaft gaurd to keep the tire from rubbing on the shaft and making the steering feel tight and sticky. I forgot, we also removed the rods on the top of the tire mount cavity. I have had a lot of reqests for a 2wd version, and I will be making some very soon. Burley www.burleymotorsportsdirect.com |

Hey Burley I was just on your site and couldn't find one but do you guys make a straight shaft (driveshaft) for the Syncro? There is a used one in the Classified Section but again didn't see anything on your website.
Cheers!

Just installed my third spare tire rack I've purchased from Burley tonight. Fit was amazing and easy to install. Over the years I've purchased many parts and quality was always great. plus if I had a question on conversions or crazy idea I had he has always had time to answer me even when I know he doesn't. Did I mention his parts are great. Thanks Burley |

Hi Mathew , I'm sorry we don't have any drive shafts for sale at the moment.
I may as well announce it now
We did find a new source for nice brand new driveshafts , with replaceable u joints and slip yokes.
At the the moment we have a couple of these new units out in testing and have been very pleased with the results.
I don't think I'm allowed talk price on here but I think its ok to say the price will be attractive
I'm in gear to be releasing the new product in mid Jan 2017.
Will post pics soon too. _________________ Protect your investment !

I was wondering if you've looked into creating a 2WD version of the under-mount spare tire carrier for oversized tires? A lot of 2WD vans like to run 215/70/15's and it would be nice to have an option to use the regular location, thanks!
