Well i've had the 67 Fasty for a few years now and I was actually able to enjoy driving it last spring and summer with a fresh 1968cc engine. I even dove it from Sacramento to LA for the 2008 Classic. It was there that I purchased all new window seals from ISP west.... Once back home at my friends shop we stripped the old window rubber out and found some rot under the windshield rubber as well as under the pop out rubber. Not to mention the entire rear package tray was rotting away. The decision was made to go ahead and fix the rot in the window channels and replace the package tray with a donor I had. Well then we figured, while the windows were out we might as well put in a new headliner. Can't put in a new headliner without painting the dash and window pillars, right? You see where this is going don't you. So after some serious thought and a few "what the hells", I went ahead and stripped her down to do a full resto.
The body will stay on the pan as I had already replaced the halves and completely Por15'd the interior parts of the pan as well as undercoated the bottom side.
The seats had been fully restored and covered with tweed and vinyl, so they are DONE.
All of the chrome is DONE.
At this point the car is at Eichlers shop sitting in line for some body work and paint. The color is a Chrysler color (T19) called "Steel Blue".
I'll try to keep this updated as I go along. I have posted pics here and there on other threads, but now its time for this build to have its own thread. Feel free to ask questions and give comments.

As you can see i've sourced a late model deck lid. IMO, the license plate location is in a more proportionate location.

Here is a shot of the engine as it was last summer with about 4k miles on it. Its a 1968cc with 44s. I'll spare the details because its getting a rebuild for the resto. It will become a 2273cc (85.5 x 92). I'll retain the 44s however, all the internals will be new. At this time we have the rotating mass, ie: 85.5 crank, 5.4 x Chevy H beams, straight cuts, and welded type 3 fan. It will be going to the machine shop for balancing soon. The heads are 044s that are still "under construction". As far as the trans, I haven't got there yet.

The seats have been done in a square weave style tweed accented with some black perforated vinyl. The door panels will match the seats, but haven't got to them yet. All done by West Coast Custom Interior in Placerville, CA

Nope thats a type 3 coil bracket, I just drilled some holes in it before chroming. And would you consider a 67 "late model"? Well I suppose its in between, cuz its not really an "early" model either. Anyway, keep guessing Very Happy

Well fortunately my arm rests were in good shape with only a couple of cracks in the pads. They were easily fixed with a vinyl repair kit that you can purchase from your auto parts store.
The arm rests were completely taken apart and lightly bead blasted then painted with black flexible vinyl paint. The Z trim was repaired by the chromer. They were (IMO) trashed. I didn't think all the dings and scratches would ever come out. You would be amazed at what those guys can do. I wish I had before shots of how thrashed they were. Anyway, they now look amazing now and will be a big stand out in he interior.

Oh and all my chrome was done by AAA Plating in Sacramento.

You see the inner rings of the gauges: Steel blue. The factory Chrysler color had a heavy metalic. When I had my brother mix the paint, he reduced the metalic to a finer grain. Much nicer. I'll post some better pics of the paint color soon.

i freakin love your gauges!!! how much you charge for that? man i would consider keeping my stock gauges, if mine looked like that. the tach conversion is great, especially for all the non-working clocks that are laying around.

I like what you have shown us so far! Show some more!
I do have one question... I have never had stuff re-chromed... I assume they straightened the bumpers and chromed those too? Would you mind telling us a ballpark $ amount that you paid AAA to chrome all of these goodies pictured? I have a couple cars that the chrome will need some attention but have no clue how expensive it would be. Thanks for the write up.

I could be wrong, but i believe that those gauges were rebuilt by John Troia. He used to do awesome work. Do a search and you'll find all you need to know.

but yes those gauges are NICE.

Yep, it was John Troia. They were done a couple years ago when he was still in business. No one can seem to get ahold of the guy anymore. He did great work. I had him do a set of Porsche 924 gauges for my 67 bug project as well.
The tach conversion may not be as cool as an original Type 3 tach, but it works good and all three gauges match.

Yes most chrome shops will straighten and repair pieces before they are chromed. I straightened my bumpers about 90% and they fixed a few dings and did the final straightening. One of the biggest bitches I had was the front wrap around turn signal housings. The plastic electrical connectors had to come off as well as the reflector plate that wraps around the bulb. I have some pics of this i'll post later.
Oh, and all the chroming was around $2k, and I'm still not finished with it. I have a few misc pieces as well as the wing window frames yet to have done.
