Do Eurovan seats fit in Vanagons?

I too am searching for seat options - I'm not in a vanagon though - I'm a 77 westy. I found a set of rear (or middle) buckets from an 02 EV, and wondering if they have the same rails as the front ones? (and how else they differ)

They are reasonably priced - but will they fit with just the simple "trim the rails" mod?

I suspect they will not work...

Sorry but the middle seats don't have seat rails and are not really adjustable.

You would have to cut off those legs then weld them in, not really practical.

The deal killer though is that the middle forward facing seats don't have any rear seat back adjustment and are pretty uncomfortable in the stock angle.

It might be possible to harvest the seat cushion and seat back and use them on Vanagon frames, which would be a nice comfort upgrade. But you wouldn't be able to use the cool EV feature that allows the seat backs to swing down 90 degrees.

Picked me up a set of eurovan seats. What did you guys do about this seat belt receiver bracket. Did you just cut with a cutting wheel right under that plastic trim and pull it out?

I was it was retained by bolts but it doesn't seem that way. And anyone know of anywhere to get oem upholstery? If not I I guess I will be going the sewfine route.

The locking system to snap the chair into place in the eurovan requires 4 specialty bolts to be fastened very securely to the floor. The chair then slides over and locks on these specialty bolts.

Might be possible.

I don't like these chairs however as there is no backrest adjustment.

Eurovan Jump seats are always available, but you will need to get the mounts as well and do some fab.

The euro jumpseats have armrests, fully adjustable backrest and the seatbelt attached.

For those of you who have fiddled around with modifying EV seats to fit in a Vanagon, do you have a clue whether Vanagon seats can be easily (and non-permanently) modded to fit in an EV? I need to service the seats in my EV and would like to temporarily install the seats from my Vanagon.

When I bought my Eurovan seats, they came with the Eurovan pedestals.

I currently have the Vanagon seats on the EV pedestals sitting in my garage.

So yes, they seem to slide on just fine, at least assuming your EV is old enough that it's seats would go in a Vangon.

iirc eurovan rails bolt on, get a set of early EV rails and then you can use the vanagon seats.

May not be that easy. I think the EV's backrest pivot is built into the seat rail, so will complicate fitting it to a Vanagon seat.

no I meant the seat rails on the bases.. Ionly have experiance in early EV seats.. so may not be the case in later models.. but the early EV base rails bolt onto the pedestals
