Hey,
Perhaps someone with some spare time could on the first page perhaps edit and add the restoration pics in chronological order all in one spot start to finish (perhaps a pic only sticky thread?)? might be alot of work but would be pretty cool to see the progress all together in order.

Is the rear 1/4 glass original to the car? I noticed it in the video, I can't see any reason for it to be changed. Are there any markings or logos on the glass?

I don't recall seeing any markings on the glass, but I did not pay too much attention to it at the time. My guess is that the glass was homemade just like almost everything on this car.

VW38-006 HQ is on the edge of the railway in Hessich Oldendorf, the side track actually comes into the yard. There was a little diesel loco in there when I was there as well. 
The carriage is possibly where all of the NOS 38 stuff is kept  |

It is a railway carriage with sleeping cabins.
It stands on their property and they let visitors sleep there in sometimes.
