Someone gave me Lanners number years ago. At the time I wanted to fit porsche brakes on my ghia. I had bought "studded" drums and rotors
from a major southern cali. shop and they sucked. Lanner pulled out the screw in studs, machined the backs and pressed in proper shouldered studs.
It was very resonable and considering my life was at stake I would have paid more.
Just picked up my second beam from him and it looks brilliant. He custom
tailored it for my oval. 3.25" narrow, shock towers, adjusters, custom bushings, new king and link pins, dropped spindles modified for porsche 944 disks.
He made a pushrod from scratch for my 944 master and it looks better
than the original (not that anyone will see it!)

Very easy to deal with and knows his stuff. I will buy from him again. |

I have bought a few things from Lanner and the service and quality has been first class.
Knows his stuff, and does custom work in a timely fashion. I would not hesitate to recommend his shop. |

I give Lanner and Vdubengineering perfect marks for product quality and service-- I only wish that I had stumbled across him earlier. I'm running a set of his Super Duty Tie Rods on my Beetle and it's a damn shame they're hidden underneath as they're beautifully made.

I wanted to add to the "Lanner is Rad" post.
over the last few years I've been lucky enough to have his support on my build from working with my tight deadlines to answering my stupid n00b questions. He doesn't skip a beat, not only that but he doesn't mess around with trying to 'get your cash'... so much so that he talked me out of a large purchase because it was just the wrong thing for my project.
That to me is the most important, most real thing.
He is a no bullshit sort of guy and has helped me move my project along faster than anyone else.
So it's this simple, need parts for your brake converstion or your VW based build, call Lanner first.
Period.
that's all I can say.
Thanks for reading.

I purchased a few Porsche to VW brake part adapters from Lanner and I was very happy with the quality of the parts and helpful guidance the he provided. If you need help with Porsche onto VW brake conversions, he is certainly one of the "good guys". |

I have known Lanner for a while now as he is a regular at most of the shows I attend. I first used one of his custom made kafer bar set ups on my 60 rag top to help control wheel hop on those hard launches. I received this very quickly from him and let me tell you it was truly a piece of art . It installed very easily with no body mods and polished up to a mirror finish to impress the most scrutinizing car show judges. Not only did it look beautiful but it also stopped any hint of wheel hop no matter how hard you hit it.
I am working on a 63 ragtop now and just installed a 3.75" narrowed beam with shock towers and adjusters and it of course fit like a glove. Again no body mods. and all new materials used to build on a jig.
Lanner definitely knows his stuff when it comes to brakes , wheel fitment and anything related to steering and suspension and I will definitely use him again.

I will post some pic's when I figure out how. _________________ 1963 ragtop |

I purchased the 944 Turbo swans, hand brake sleeves and the heavy duty tierods. My only regret was not buying the modified front 944 Turbo hubs.
I've since crashed the car and broke the strut, guard, headlight and damaged the rim, however the tierods are still perfect! Just a sign of the outstanding craftmanship I guess. |

Last year I had Lanner do some 4 lug to 5 lug machining. Not only was the work he did exceptional, he also helped with getting screw-ups created by CIP1 resolved.
A+ in my book and would highly recommend his work. _________________ 20‰

I bought his 3 piece kafer bar, very nicely built. When I decide to go with Porsche brakes I will definitely be going through him.

I've been pestering Lanner with random questions about my project for a while now and he's been a rock-star! He really knows his shit, and genuinely wants our projects to work out. My spindle conversion (type 1 to 951) was low priority so I wasn't concerned about it taking a while, but he offered several times to burn the midnight oil and get them done PDQ. When I got my parts they were gorgeous; I can't wait to get them all mounted up and under my car! |
