Lanner is awesome and super knowledgeable. My caliper brackets showed up today, packed great and arrived just as described. His website is great too and has all the info you could ask for when doing a brake upgrade. He is fast and super knowledgeable at responding to questions, would definitely do business with him again.
Thanks again! _________________ http://das-auto-66vw.tumblr.com/ |

The 1303 Forum had a post stating that Lanner @ vdubengineering was getting out of the business/closing up shop?
Anyone hear of this?

I saw him a few weeks ago and yes he did say that and was packing his stuff up while I was there. I don't if its permanent or a relocation etc. |

He has relocated.
Don't know if or when he will "open up shop" again. _________________ '72 super

Yeah last full months have been crazy as I've moved to the otherside of the continent. I'm getting set up now and should be back into production by mid July.
Cheers

OK.. that would explain why I haven't heard back from you regarding the brake caliper brackets. No worries.. I'm sure once you get set up, you'll get orders rolling out again. _________________ Justin |

I've been trying to reach him since December and haven't gotten a response from him after he said he'd return my hubs. Has anyone heard from him since Christmas? _________________ Jason McDaniel |

I've had a bad experience with Lanner. I sent him hubs in Aug 2014 for his brake kit. They were to be finished in September. Then late October, then November, and then he said he couldn't do them anymore, yet still advertises them on the Samba, and updates his ads. In December Lanner said he would send back my hubs and refund the shipping, yet has not replied to any emails, PMs or phone calls since then.
Still waiting for my hubs. Still waiting to be refunded. _________________ Jason McDaniel |

He seems to pop up and send me an email every six weeks or so saying he will return my parts. But so far he never comes through. _________________ Jason McDaniel |

I have paid modernbeat for lost parts. And sent him free brackets and ebrake kit to partially cover the inconvenience. I'm sorry for the hassle and run-around.
I'm still not setup for type1 machining. Everything else is active and parts are in-stock and shipping. Hopefully my machines will be all setup by summer to get back into the Type1 hub machining.
Keep wrenching... _________________ www.vdubengineering.com

I don't know what's going on but Lanner has disappeared with my money and no parts have come my way. He hasn't responded to 5 e-mails.
I've purchased parts from him before, no problems., but parts that were supposed to be sent on July 19 (he needed some time, which I agreed to) have not been sent.
Trying to be understanding, but I'm only so patient when someone has my money.

This seems odd. I have been corresponding with him regarding parts for my '67 bus and communication seems good. Some times it takes him a couple of days to respond to a text, but he gets back to me. We have 36 text messages going back and forth,( haggling, for price mostly, as he want my Barn door steering wheel) and have hammered out a deal. Just waiting for him to confirm all parts ready for shipping.
So, should I send the money once he shows me a weigh bill from the shipping company?
