Gorgeous Kab, we can't wait to see all of the cool, unmolested details of that beauty so we can work on ours. You are a lucky guy, when you catch your breath, please share the "finding this vert" story with us. Is it a '56 or '57?

Great photos of the black Kabriolett! My '57 Kab was black with red leatherette interior and sits in the back of my garage awaiting it's turn for a full restoration (I bought it all apart in "project" form). But I'm debating on whether to change the color to the metallic Iris blue... Not sure I want to spend the rest of my life trying to keep a black car clean and dust-free. My other internal debate is to set it up as original (USA spec) or build it as a European spec car. I already have the rebuilt Convertible semaphores, their body box sections, NOS Euro blades/bumperettes, NOS kph speedo, etc. stored away so that I can go either direction. Decisions, decisions...
Anyway, great photos!

Grailoc's beautiful '56 would make this an oh so easy decision for me !

If Your Cab was black I would suggest you restoring black.

I just started looking for wood replacement parts for the top of my car and noticed that besides Chuck's convertible, Jbugs also sells some of them for oval verts. Any input on the quality of these ?
Does anybody know if there are other suppliers out there selling these?
I appreciate your feedbback. |

It is in my opinion, Chuck specializes in Converts.Jbug sells parts, I IMO I would with Chucks, but ask around...cheaper isn't always good..you get what you pay for.. _________________ .

Tom,
You quoted the index above. What is your question?
I saw in your gallery the photos of your interior dome light fixture. Yes, that is the correct fixture for your Kabriolett, and the cracked up lens looks like the correct one. Is this what you are trying to ask about? As I recall these have been reproduced before, I think the one I have for my Kabrio restoration may be a repro. There may be some available out there, does anyone know of a source for the repro dome light lens for Tom?
