Almost 4-5 years the bus has been hibernating on the lift.
now that I have finished to work on my 56 cabrio and learned how to do metal work with it, I have decided to redo the restoration of the bus.

the metal work that was done back 15 years was not to the level that bus deserves, so I have decided to undo the work and redo it correctly.

I will post pictures of the progress as I move forward.

My 1st work was to remove the 1/4 floor pan patch which was not right for the bus so I will replace it with a more accurate patch.

the wheel arch still has a good amont of OG paint in it because of this old under coating protection.

I am going to do all of the metal and rust repair job myself.

I think thus bus needs to have the restoration it deserves.

I am currently removing the whole rear floor pan, I will post pictures once done.

I also modified the autocraft outrigger to get the same details as the original one.
the left and right flanges have side cut and the drain hole needed to get bigger.

before I continue with metal cutting I wanted to take a pause and play with flat sheet metal and started to redo from scratch the outer dog leg skin.

I invested about 4 hours into it so far, I am currently happy of the direction it is going so far:

alignment with the door profile is really good so I can continue that reproduction. All of the fitment issues get addressed at every step, so I don't end up with a big mess like with some repro parts.
