that I'd thought it was the other just goes to say, wow, doesn't it all look the same? Well there's a good reason it looks familiar, since I live actually right around the block from there. Orizaba & 5th Smile

4th and Obispo, north east corner. Had an apartment right across the street, from that car wash, when I went to CSULB, back in 1974. Lived there for one year before I transferred out. I parked the bus on Obispo. I was lucky, bus did not get stolen and never was broken into.

It's a bit hard to tell that it's actually clean since I used my cellphone camera.

Broke out the Meguiars polish and wax Cool Hand buffed with many 'diaper soft' cotton cloths using random star-like motions. Their polish really helps bring the paint back to life. She's lookin' pretty sweet with the BRM replica wheels I got at CIP1.com.

Drove it over some small parking boulders at the park to get some good shots of it, lol.

I think it turned out great. Both the bus and the photo.

I hand wash in the driveway using car wash soap and two buckets, plus two microfiber mits (one for body, one for wheels). I also use an orange based degreaser in the wheel wells and underbody and Simple Green on the white bumpers and poptop. I use a metal polish on the aluminum louvered windows and wax the whole thing with turtle wax. Then dry the whole thing with a microfiber cloth.

I've also been cleaning away on my fan shroud, I think I tried carb cleaner on it. Came out shinier and you can actually read the numbers stamped in it now.

If you spotted the dipstick location and lack of oil breather box, yes it's a Vanagon engine.

Don't know if it was freshly washed but it obviously wasn't freshly waxed.

Here's mine right out of the car wash. Only time I've ever not washed her by hand. It's an old pic by the way.
