Another episode of Amazing Spaces features British surfer Pegleg who's planning a new house on the back of his Syncro Doka, a larger flatbed camper to replace the existing unit he bought many years ago.

Last week the German on-line magazine Auto Bild Klassik had this article on VW's Plant South Africa Vanagon (known as T3 = generation 3 Transporter) powered by Audi 2.3 or 2.6 liter gas engines. The 2.6i was rated at 136 hp. The engine compartment had to be slightly raised for the taller engine design. With the 2.6i its 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time was 14.4 seconds, and had a top speed of 163 km/h (101 mph). The plant built the T3 thru 2002, and also featured the modified engine air intake shape and the larger, lower-bottomed side windows. https://www.autobild.de/klassik/artikel/vw-t3-2.6i...v2-UHWPY7I |
