Kronprinz 5.5"-15 with 175/70-R15. Came with this car in 1972, but this set is made in 1989. This set stayed on the shelf till 1997, I sold off the originals which were tired. After 18 years the rubbber finally started cracking, and the paint is a little dull, so I am having them resprayed in the original scheme now. What you see is an untouched wheel, as it came from the factory. The color should be Pewter silver metallic, a bit darker than flashy silver rim paint. Will be a heck of a job masking it correctly, but I think it will turn out nice. I even got a set of Vredestein Sprint Classic in the correct size, 175/70-15, waiting for the repainted rims. The chromed KPZs in this thread are killer, but the cost would be crippling, I am afraid.

Here are the detailed (Painted and polished) Pedrinis on my 68 beetle. The tires are 195-60-15. The front is lowered 3 inches with 2 avis adjusters in the stock width VW beam. The front end has stock VW disk brake spindles.

Easy --Thanks for the compliments! I wanted the wheels to look different from what everyone else puts on late cars. I designed and made the center caps. I think I have a blueprint of them somewhere...I didn't like the factory caps plus they were expensive so I thought I'd try making my own. They are made from billet aluminum and polished. They have a recess in the center to fit / hold the Porsche emblem. It's hard to see but there are 4 vertical scallops that are cut in the sides of the cap that line up with the longest raised ribs on the wheel. I tried to make them so they looked like they "belonged" on the wheels and were not an add on type of deal. Thanks again for the compliments. |

Does anyone know what these are? I surfed through the last 33 pages and didn't see anything. They're on a craigslist car.
Thanks

We called them "Coke bottles" way back when. Some people call them "Daisy wheels". They were made by American Racing, among others. |

These were made by various Wheel Companies.
- U.S. Mags : Daisy
- Also known as LeMans.
- American Racing Equipment :
4 Lugs are LIBRE
5 Lugs are 200 S

They look great, I really like the polished highlights. Makes me think about doing that to mine... _________________ Glenn

How narrowed is this beam to get these wheels to fit? |

These are some fairly unusual 15" diameter, 6" wide, 4x130 alloys that I purchased recently from a Samba seller. I was pretty sure I had never seen them before, and the seller told me that, as far as he knew, they were only sold for one year, by one of the big California aftermarket VW parts houses, which is when he bought them, approximately 12 years ago. I need to study and document the markings on the back more thoroughly, but from what I recall seeing, they were made in Italy. Might have to start up a new thread for these in the custom wheels & tires section of the forums...
It appears I need to use those little adapter rings for ball seat-to-cone shape lug bolts, and then also the extra long cone-shape lug bolts, both of which I found fairly readily online (with some helpful pointers from a few Samba threads that I looked at first). Should be a learning experience...
Here is a photo that the seller sent me a copy of, with the wheels on his Bug:

Just got my favorites put on yesterday. I almost went with sprint stars, but decided on something a little more different.
