Does anyone have a Volkswagen, specifically I am looking for a Beetle lunch box?

I have found this one, and seen a few other pictures of one the same on the forum, but nothing else of interest.

What else is out there?

Beetle owners historically are rather poor.
They carry their lunch in a brown paper bag. Crying or Very sad

desh,
I collect lunch boxes from the 50's-70's, and I also have a mint bus lunch box like the one you posted.

That one was made by Omni Graphics back in 1960 and it was given to people who test drove the VW's at the dealers. That's the only lunch box Omni Graphics ever made.

A beetle lunch box was never produced back in the day. However, I'm not sure if a modern one was ever made.

I forgot about that one.
It is my understanding that it was given by a grocery store chain in Norway as a Christmas present to employees.

If you read the language under the top of the split basket above, it looks like it was a meat tin originally? It might have been a fancy means of packaging meat products. The brand inside is Stabburet or something like that?

I have these two Beetle/Herbie themed lunchboxes.

This one I've had for probably 10 years and is a custom that I got from Jerry Jess.

This one is an official Disney Herbie Fully Loaded lunchbox.

I had one a while back and started to find out the story behind these pick nick baskets and the story I got was when your went to your local grocer they put what ever goods you bought that day in the little tin box. Imagine how many people threw them away treating it like a paper bag? Yikes!

Reviving a decade old thread it looks like.

Does anyone know of a split window picnic box that would possibly be for sale or trade? Haven't had much luck looking on the web for one.

Thank you,
Dustin

Cool, good to know they are still out there. Looks like an old fashion swap meet can still be the way to go!

On a side note Peter, hope you're still rocking your brown split window. Love that car.
