I don't recognize it but yes, the Turquoise paint looks great!
I noticed in the original White photo it has a 64-up cargo door, did you replace that with a correct one?
It has the extra indent that was added for push-button front doors
Edit:
I just saw that you posted a ton of photos in the gallery and the door is correct
Nice! |
Thanks, well spotted yes the door got changed as did the cab doors , coincidently all from another DC ( the pop out was the other way round) found as a set on The Samba they were nice logo doors it was a shame to repaint them . |

i have a strange issue
i had my gates sand blasted and metal repairs done
in the process i come to find out the circle clip or washer or bolt that keeps the latch in place but allows it to move up and down is gone
has anyone ever experienced this?it looks like its pressed on somehow
there is a groove there where it was before it was removed or lost
if anyone knows the name of part or number |

The latch is peened together. The part looks like a circlip goes there but it a washer. I will try to get a picture when I get home. |

Seems like there may be others that like split-window double cabs, as a 1964 just sold at Barrett-Jackson for $60,000 |

Hi guys,
I own a couple of split crew cabs. One of them was built on september 1959 (1960 modelyear). It didn't come with the drop gates. So, I have a couple of questions for you.
a) What type of drop gates do I need (the normal ones for the split model or the one with the shorter "box" in the middle (the cut version of the single cab).
b) When did VW start the production (officially) of the crew cab?
Thanks! _________________ 58' PGSG

A: The ones with the short box in the middle, welded vertically in the middle of the short box.
B: VW production started in Nov 1958 (early '59 model year)

Thanks Bill! Good to know.
My last question is this:
When did VW start producing the crew cab with the three regular boxes? I mean, the 3 with the same size. _________________ 58' PGSG
