it is not original paint and is not mango. it looks 57-58 maybe like you said, in which case it should most likely be palm green/sand green.

whats the interior like? rust? complete?

yes it has been painted...very poorly at that. There is paint on all the window seals Rolling Eyes

it might be a very good buy depending on the rest of its condition.

on looking closer it is 57 at the newest...fat base mirror arm.

I agree with sled. Is for sure and early bus ( 55-58 ). Press bumpers, fat base arms, fat lip dog legs, no handle recess on cargo doors. (58 and earlier) I would say it is a standard palm green sand green, it has six pop outs and not sure but looks like soft green front seat (stitched) and headliner. Kombis did not have stitched front seats or headliners. It has been painted for sure. If it is as rust free as it looks go for it good deal. If not, let me know where it is.

Maybe I'm wrong but it sure looks like there's a center seat grab bar in the picture.

Sled, I can see the overspray on the window seals, The problem is it is in the Alaska Bush no roads in or out, It has not moved for 20 yrs, so if it is not org paint i think i will pass, it seems it is (just) a repainted kombi. it would cost me $300 in airplane gas in my own plane just to go look at it!

Can somebody fix my pics for me?

on another note, glass is foggy indicating sigla safety glass. Another thing to confirm it is a standard not kombi. If you don't want it, pass it along. I could use a good spring trip up north.

well for one thing alaska does not use salt on the roads, the last 6 T2s i have bought/rebuilt have come from here, most rust free for the most part, the biggest problem is the snow crushing the roofs,or the inside filling up with snow and ice then they rot insideout Sad

helicopter will get it out cheaper than you might think. High hourly rate but can cover a lot of ground in a short time. So if it is abandoned in the bush (assuming old camp/mine site) why is it you have to pay for it ?? Who holds the rights to it ?? A friend went through something similar. He picked up a super clean low mileage toyota land cruiser pick up in northern BC at an abandoned mine site for free. Just had to sling it out. it did help that we worked for a helicopter company at the time.

The bus has had the same owner for over 30yrs, i understand very well how to get it home, the problem i see is the people who like this type of bus ( OG rust rat wathever) Dont have the money to buy it once it is out,or buy it after a restore, plus it is $1,500 to Seattle alone. If it was a D/C or 21 or barndoor it would allready be in my yard

clean pg/sg buses fetch more than you think. If I get this right you would be in it for a total of $5000 to your door. try and find a complete unmolested, clean, dry 57 standard in the lower 48 for $5000. Check out the samba right here. Like I said, pass on the info to me if you do not want it. Saying that makes you want it more doesn't it ?? As for restored if done right the asking price of late seems to be $50000-$70000USD. I am not sure they would sell for that though.

The $3500 to buy seems high for it being in some remote area?

Regardless of that fact, I vote to get it if it's not rusty.

Some comments above make me think it has a middle seat? That could be 1/2 the value right there, maybe more if it's nice.
