I have 8 1:18 Johnny Lightnings
1. normal Herbie
2. normal Herbie White Lightning (with white tires)
3. Junkyard Herbie
4. Junkyard Herbie White Lightning (with white tires)
5. Herbie goes Bananas
6. normal red Beetle
7. Hells Angels
8. Grateful Dead
Then I have the "Seabreeze Point"-Diorama with the Herbie without Herbie-Decals.
And I have several Christmas Ornaments and other Beetles in 1:64 scale.
Does anyone know if there are more than these 8 beetles in 1:18 scale?

Hi KaeferModelle,
Just curious about why all the photos that you post have the Copyright C emblem and the www.KaeferModelle.de . . .
. . . most of the time that distracts from looking at a really nice photo that you post
. . and besides, have all those photos really gone through the Copyright Preparation, Copyright Registration,
and received an official Registration Certificate |
Hello Bob,
I am the owner of www.KaeferModelle.de! All photos, which I show here, I have made myself for my forum and they show only my models. That's why I write my copyright on all photos.
So I did not do them for TheSamba, just taken them out of my forum to show them here. |

Thanks for the information. I have the red beetle too. He is the No. 6 in my list. I just did not show a photo because I forgot it.
But it is true that the red JL and also the two White Lightnings are very rare. |

A user of my Beetle Models forum told me that Herbie actually did not have the typical Herbie decals in the movie scene. |
That is correct.

Thank you for the nice picture. I love this little car. |

I have the same one - same cars and colors. Funny how both have the same crease in upper right corner, must be where it's grabbed when they're stocking the shelves.
I can't believe its from 2004. I had to go find mine in the basement with my 'seconds' - there just isn't enough room to display everything.
Here are a couple more Johnny Lightnings that I have - the 1:18 Grateful Dead bettle:
and its smaller 1:64 sibling:

These are my Johnny Lightnings in 1:64. My favorites are the Holiday or Christmas Ornaments.

I seldom keep toys packaged up, but I have a couple of Christmas ornaments that haven't made their way to the tree yet.

Just added this Topper JL Bug Bomb in gold.
Not an easy model to find in good condition with all parts intact, and a hard color as well!
There was a carded one on ebay last week, but the price went into the stratosphere. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
