Ok all you VW parade-ers, here's the scoop. We are #52 in the 100+ participants lineup this year. Totally beats #84 last time. Directions and time are still the same. Exit the 5 freeway at El Toro and go east. Turn left on Jeronimo. Turn right on Ridge Route and follow the officials who will point to where we are supposed to be. This is the car club staging area ONLY. You cannot enter any other way or they will yell and scream at you. Don't try to come in from Lake Forest as there is a 5K race there. Our staging area is super close to El Toro High School where the $6.00 Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast will be. After our parade travel is over we will be directed out on Ridge Route towards Trabuco Rd. We are supposed to undress the buses and beetles pronto as all the car clubs will be using this area. Put on and/or bring your red/white/blue finest! Kinda struck me funny as #51 is a Christian church and band, then #52 Hitler's cars, then #53 an AYSO team sucking up our exhaust. I hope those little kids live through it. See you all at 8:30 am on Monday, July 4th!!!! _________________ '67 Beetle

I have had more interest than usual this year! Yeah! Seems we will have some Beetles rolling behind the buses which will be great! I have a planning meeting to attend this Tuesday which will nail down where we are in the lineup. So far, this is our staging area information. On Parade Day, staging begins at 8:30 AM at the following area: Ridge Route West (for Car Clubs - enter from Jeronimo). We usually park our vehicles, get the decorating going, walk over to El Toro High School for the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, come back and finish decorating then waitwaitwait til it's our turn to roll.
More info to be posted after the meeting on the 28th. _________________ '67 Beetle

Hellooooooooooo out there! Suebug is setting up the Lake Forest 4th of July Parade lineup again. This year let's get some buses rolling! It is soooooooooooo fun. July 4 is a Monday. The staging is circa 9 am, the parade runs from 10-12, leaving plenty of time afterwards for picnicking and fireworks. Let's get a great head count like the early days! I think at most we had 21 buses. What a sight we were! Let me know ASAP as I need to get the application in with a guesstimate and start going to the planning meetings. _________________ '67 Beetle

I am officially NOT doing the parade this year. Too many people say they can't do it or don't reply saying one way or the other. So DON'T show up thinking it's on! Look for the resurrection of our participation in 2016! A year off sometimes makes it feel new again! _________________ '67 Beetle

Suebug is the self-appointed chairperson for this year's 4th of July Parade (a Saturday!). I have to give the headcount by June 8. Who would like to join in this year?

Yep, a whole year has come and gone. Suebug is the chairperson again and we're revving up for another fun time! We are #51 this year, so a little closer to the front. Check out the pics from years past to see how we roll. So far this year's RSVP list is a bit measly. Who will join us?

Gary Beadlebus, the infamous Hot Dog Fred, Mrs. Debbie Hot Dog Fred, and pup
Two insane VW bus people, Suebug and Boxonwheels
Offspring of insane VW bus people.
Roadside in-the-parade-route repairs.
Undressing after the parade.
Drive-thru at In-N-Out!
Lake Forest 4th of July Parade!!!! Good turnout of 8 buses (??????, why do you other guys skip this one!) and when Evan's bus broke down on the parade route as he was driving with his new church they ditched him! After Shawn came to the rescue he just drove around the block to join our group! hahahahahaha We went for lunch at the Foothill Ranch In-N-Out, lost a few buses for the photo shoot, but got the first pics of buses in an In-N-Out drive-thru (after Suebug asked the manager's permission of course). A fun day with great people! And you should've heard the commentary on TV! Hopefully Dave24 can come to this site and post our little bit of video! _________________ '67 Beetle
