i'm tried of going through 10 pages of posts with 1 or 2 reply's in them to get to the "main" threads on the topic of the search, it seems as if this could be a very effective search tool and with all of the use the search posts, i feel it would cut down on them a fair amount. let me know what you guys think, thanks for your time mods.

I understand what you are asking but I'm not sure # of replies is the best measure of a thread's value. It is easy to skim to which ones have the most replies in the search results though. If you get 10 pages right off the bat, enter more search terms to narrow your search.

Actually,

This would be a useful metric in the Bay Window forum where it seems the same question get asked 100 times, then Hazetguy replies with a link to a viable thread, then the thread gets locked.

If a topic makes it past a page, I have found that chances are better that it is a thoughtful discussion.

How about narrowing the search by getting rid of threads that have been locked. This would cut down on a majority of the repeated topics.

well that's what i was thinking if you can re-order by number of reply's all the locked ones will be at the end as they usually only get 1 or 3 replys before getting locked. and i really do feel that the longer threads tend to have the most information in them as they truley are an evolving conversation which is what we really want here. i mean the perfect site would only have like 20-30 threads but each one would have an on going conversation about the subject, but i digress that is impossible. so i'll just seattle for sorting things out by number of replys, haha if we can get that Wink anyways i'm done on this subject just a thought.

True. I guess I didn't properly introduce myself on
this site and it
Rubed a few Samba Gods the wrong way.
But I was given a second chance, thx to EB.
Short of it is, I'm new to forum posting and probably
hurried through the
Intial start.
There are Rules Embarassed here I thought.
Sticking on the subject, what could be fair is
(not sure if ever tryed), instead of locking down
the thread instantly, send a PM or flag it and give
it 1 to 24hrs to let the owner of the thread delete
it him or herself.
This way it enables a little feedback to get started
to open some search ideas.
Some parts are very new to some and it is hard
make a correct title.
Fair enough.
Great site and who the hell is sabing my pics

I added another sort option to sort by number of replies today.

You must select it from the Sort By drop down box to use this option.
