are the mass air flow sensors for the 2.2L the same from 90-99? or is there a difference from OBD2 95-99? I know for sure the the wiring harness on 94 and below has an extra wire, but I also know for sure by disassembly that that wire goes no where in the MAF.
Ebay listings show 90-99 is the same but does anyone in these forums know for sure? |

One way to tell is to go to a site that sells Genuine Subaru parts. Enter the year, make and model, go to intake, find the part number. Then do it for another year. Compare.
I've been doing this a lot lately, as my from a manual '90 has a bunch of incompatibilities with 92-94's in the wiring and a few sensors, like th IACV valve, fuel jnjectors, etc. I've heard you can run a 2.5 from a 92-94 2.2 ECU, but maybe not optimally, if the ECU is expecting a different MAF, then it probably won't get the combustion quite right.
