Brought this '60 mango beetle home yesterday. Pretty damn rough but whatever..it was cheap and I have wanted an early beetle for awhile.

Found this very straight and completely original paint, rust and accident free '67 standard this last weekend. It is originally from Torrance CA, but spent most of it's later life out in the So. Ca desert. Solid little car but it's missing a few items like the og steering wheel, seats and hub caps. It also needs a carpet kit and a headliner to make it 100%. Anyone recognize the aftermarket steering wheel?? If anyone has these items and is reasonable about price, hit me up. I want to get this little guy back on the road. Thx.

Can't decide if I'll keep this one and DD it or flip it. Link to pics below.

Usually I complain about cell phone pics. This one, however, gave me wood.

This wasn't today, but it was about 6 weeks ago.
A friend in Minnesota gave me this 64

unfortunately, I didn't have a way to get it home to California.
Also, the entire bottom of the car had rusted away.
Now, I know many of you could have (and would have) saved this poor girl.
I just wasnt able to.
So, I salvaged as much as I could and brought those parts home.

Picked up this 66 right hand drive Saturday march 5th.. Car was parked in a back field since 1975 so I decided to wake it up for its 41 year nap. Original color is ruby red. Needs Heater channels floors rust repair and a full going over . I am just glad to save another right hand drive car.

I don't know anything about bugs. Would someone be willing to tell me how much the rack would be worth? Probably 3/6 clamps. Didn't want to go swimming in the blackberries if it wasn't worth anything.

Slip into your carharts for ten minutes- it's worth it. Minimum $250 on those racks. Is the owner letting you go nuts there? I see stuff inside.
I don't know what you mean by 3/6 clamps.

Its had a poor life this one. It's been out there for quite a while. Some crazy mag wheels on the back but the wheel wells don't look cut from what I could see. Engine is seized. Interior doesn't look half bad, but it would be a bloody/hot afternoon getting inside to strip stuff out.

Thanks for the input on the rack! Really appreciate it. I didn't know how many clamps it came with. There's one on either side if I remember right. The other passenger leg is buried in the bush, so I couldn't see if there was a clamp there. I imagine I would have to bend them a bit to get it loose as the screws look rusted.

I believe that rack only has 2 clamps - one on each side on the center foot.

Yes, grab it!

I'm amending slightly. If the owner lets you- why not just drag that thing straight out to have a better look at things. You don't want to miss a Kameii under dash tray; seat recliners; 356 brakes and a Speedwell steering wheel.

Sorry if you saw this in another forum. I reposted because I put it in the wrong forum.

I went to grab a pair of low back seats off craigslist and scored me a '66 Shell. Well... I say scored, my wife says, "oh great, more junk".
Anyway, pretty straight. The front and rear aprons have a little bondo. And the only cancer I found was in the rear of the passenger heat channel on the top side, the bottom is solid. Over all it's a good shell for $100 and it even came with an assortment of deep well & regular metric sockets hidden in the dirt and trash.

Sweet deal! I love getting free-bees like the socket set. I once found a complete Hazet tool kit in a fatty that I bought for $250. That shell looks really good, especially for $100. Congrats!

Been hunting these two for 4 years, last weekend it finally happened. The excavation of the rag top was tricky, quonset hut was well past its prime, falling in and supported by random posts. Got them both loaded up with only a few yellow jacket attacks.

Congratulations from one of your weirder friends in Boise! Great save(s). Anxious to learn the green car's birthdate.
