Cool find, but I can hear those cinder blocks it's on just waiting to crumble and give way from here. Shocked

No worries...I got to it just in time. I even got two tires to hold air (and bought two that will be spares later on). She made the trip to our farm without a bit of drama. Apart from the very shallow door dent, it has not been wrecked and comes with a treasure trove of new and used parts, including six engines (two are complete with original German tin, carburetor, and distributor). There must be 25 boxes of catalogued parts for the '63, as well as T2s, T3s, T4s, and Porsches. There are two all-metal top racks, two extra front seats, 6 swing-axle assemblies, six flywheels, a bunch of window glass, and 9 jack/lugwrench combos.

I'm pretty excited to get started!

So this followed me home yesterday - 1964 Ruby Red beetle. It's been owned by a few local buddies over the past 10 years or so, and now it's my turn. It needs the typical floor and heater channel work, but overall not too bad. Still has the 40hp 6v motor. I believe the interior is mostly original.

A little hunting and gathering. This 67 vert is pretty picked over but what’s left is dry and original paint.

Glad to be back, been a few years without a beetle but found this lovely 66, and had a beer with it on our way home. Think its original paint, no signs of repaint, 1600dp, not original interior, but its going bye bye anyway....

Well, after 950 miles, 17 hours, and a thermos of coffee, I got this mostly complete 1960 ragtop home. Found on Facebook Market Place. The engine is out of a '62 based on numbers. The bug itself looks like Dec '59 build date.

Wow! That’s rusty! Cool find. Is this your first VW and welcome to the site. The color green reminds me of Gearson Funky Green (a brand of high quality rust repair panel). You will be good at welding when your done

Looks like it was originally L419 Ceramic Green.

Ceckert64, it's bug number 4 for me. I haven't had one in a few years. It is almost a perfect match to the Gearson green.

She is a little crusty in a few places, but rather solid in others(rear shock, front and back bumper mounts, wheel wells etc). She has been sitting outside for the last 15-20 years with rain pouring in the top, so although the floor and heat channels are gone, the rest surprisingly is still somewhat solid.

Mukluk, it might be the way the color comes across in the picture, but the color looks more like a somewhat faded Indigo Blue. Plus the original seat covers are hiding under the funky green ones for the back seat, they look like they match up to the grey listed in the paint codes on the Samba.

thats good if the rest is solid, 15+ years with an open roof did some damage for sure. Are you going to start a restoration thread, I will be interested to see it’s progress!

awesome find, dave115! can't wait to see what you do with it. looks fairly similar condition to the '60 i picked up recently. originally jade green, resprayed gold once. pulled out of the south carolina field it had been sitting in for a good while by my buddy kyle and now back in florida with me next to my '65. excited to get started on it when i'm able...

Last week I brought home this numbers matching & complete '67 (original bill of sale marked Sept 1966).

This VW blue '67 with white interior bugged me out when I found it on Craigslist. The seller who trailered it from Midland TX (where it had lived it's whole life) had intended to restore it but decided against it and passed it on to me.

This is a Texas car with very little rust in the body, it has what I call a West Texas sunburn. It came with the original bill of sale, a signed title, and an original manual and service card.
