Found this beauty under a tarp while picking up my carpool partner. Had been parked for almost 20 years because the owner couldn't get it passed California SMOG rules, (1975 and newer require SMOG checks). Its a 1974 Super, relatively rust free and all original except for the wheels. $500 later, its mine!

This sweet little 1958 Coral Red Canadian deluxe bug followed me home the other day. Fairly rust free but does have some rust hiding about. Had been sitting in a field full of other VWs for the last 40 years.

1/2 an hour with an SOS pad and I bet that bumper would like it was only 1 year old. _________________

Probably an optical illusion because it has black rubber without the trim piece? Not sure as it is correct.
I’ll have to get some more pictures of both of the 58s and post them here. |

Black painted interior pieces, emergency flasher switch, and windshield defroster indicate features of the 66 model year _________________ -'85 c10 5.3 LS, 222 cam, long tubes, x pipe, 3 inch spin tech's

I agree, definitely a ‘66. Vin is a 116 number on the chassis. I was just commenting on the engine. |

Scored this sweet little 1960 bug today gave it to my wife for her 40th bday today. Previous owner primered over cOol old paint, a little thinner and i should have it back to Turquoise and white soon. The old paint is so beautiful. Interior has been started and done nicely. The neon green will see if it stays hahahahaha. So stoked to own this arizona beauty should have it lookin sweet again real soon and she runs great!!

Hi everyone. Im new to the forum Im hoping you guys can help me out. Im looking to buy a 66 beetle. it has a 1641cc and 12v upgrade. It has no major rust however ther is a quarter size rust hole in passenger door as well is minor rust in front of vehicle. Driver door has major bando repair done. Engine is superclean and the vehicle runs great. Interior does need work but its not terrible My major concern is that it is a salvage title. Asking price is $5,500. Is this a good buy? |

No, that sounds like it would be a horrible buy. If you are in California, you should be able to get something better. Bondo+ rust would make me question how much rust you Can’t see. There is probably a lot hidden and rust issues could be why it has a salvage title. Being a salvage title at that price is another reason to not buy it. Pictures would help but is sounds like a 2-3k beetle _________________ 1964 sunroof Beetle Restoration "Herbie"
