I see there is a kubel, schwimmer and an '82e' (which looks questionable) in this forthcoming coys auction on the 18th may.

some other interesting vehicles too - nsu krad, merc 170, stoewer etc
I'm guessing they come from an italian collection... _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

emailed coys and they now say that it is an 82e tribute (!) made from a '47 beetle and obviously without reduction boxes etc. I had asked for the chassis number but that wasn't given... _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

I've just had a look at the website, and the chassis number is given as 1-068637. Why they even mention Type 82E I don't know? A 47 Beetle is desirable enough item in itself. Maybe a lack of knowledge?
Obviously a lot of non original items on the car, which you might not have expected at the sale price envisaged, but who put the rear lights on? I've never seen lights so high. It wouldn't have taken much research to find out approx where they went. Certainly not approaching door handle level!
Like most cars of this age, they have done well to survive, and I've no doubt that whoever buys this, will endevour to make it more period correct over time. |

So now we call fakes an "evocation", as in "Type 82E evocation"? Jeez.
Almost as nauseating as "used car lease," now known as "encore lease."
