On friday I saw a ad on craigslist for two dune buggy's, some parts and two beetle parts cars. So I asked if he would sell just the bugs, he said yes you can have them both for $200. One is a '71 with no pan but has all the interior there and comes with 4 new 2 inch wider fiberglass fenders. The other is a '61 it has the pan and tranny in it, no engine. It's a north dakota car and is fairly solid besides the floor pans. The doors are really rough. The hood and decklid look usable, all the glass is there besides the passenger rear side window. taillight's, head lights and turn signals are missing but a pair of '62-67 taillights are included. The dash has been stripped of all the parts. The cool part is it still has the dealer emblem tag on the rear decklid. I think it was courtesey motors of bismarck ND. And in the garage was a 1600 longblock that I asked if he would sell and he said if I bought both cars he would throw it in with the deal. He said it was supposedly rebuilt and it does have a new cap, rotor, condensor and points so who knows. He even let me take the engine without paying him anything. We are going to pick up the cars tomorrow. I will post pics then. I hope to throw a pan under the '71 and baja it. I'm not sure what i'll do with the '61 either part it out or save it for a project. No title's for either of them. Did I get a good deal?

I don't think you did too bad. You could part out the cars for more than that, based on what you said. Smile

Just got back about 20 mins ago. We had to make two trips to get everything. He ended up giving me alot more than I thought I would get. I got a extra 58-63 decklid that is almost perfect, no dents. And I got some of the engine tin for the '61, the fan shroud, generator and intakes for the engine he gave me. And a bunch of other stuff for the '61 and '71. I also got a spare pan with a tranny but no beam and the pans are cut out. Pics in a few hours

And the '61 is a september '60 made car. And it still has the 4 tab hood on it. But it does have a crack in the normal spot.

I was wondering where you're at in Minnesota? I see it's been over 5 years. Still have any of this stuff? I've got an early '58 and two 1960 Bugs and some other vehicles.

What kind of parts..? I've been in Mankato this last week dumping soybeans at CHS every day...but because of the storm last night I won't be coming back Monday with a load...I'm heading out to ND. What kind of old VW's any vans? Old bugs...I got rid of a couple that I still wish I had from back in the day. A '55 Euro and a '57 ... both bugs.
