What's that wagon front and center?
And the wagon in front of the Bus? |
I was thinking of this in the other thread, too.
For fun, let's try to date the photo by finding the youngest cars.
The bus is likely a 64 or 65, hard to tell if that is Turkis or Velvet green.
|
My opinion, which I believe is correct is that the Bus is a Turkis '64
My logic: Velvet would look like the dark green shrubs _________________ How to Post Photos

I have no idea what make this car is. It looks like it could be British. Though it has the steering wheel on the left side it could be in that location for the non-British market. The smaller sign in the window shows that the owner is asking $5800.
The location is a weekly car show in Huntington Beach, Calif. put on by a loose knit group of friends calling themselves the Donut Derelicts. Note the light blue Beetle with the engine hood up.

Photo #66 is a 23-window Bus. |

Looks like the love child of a Jowett Jupiter and a Daimler SP250-------but it is uglier than either one of them (if that's possible) |

Within the last hour I found out the manufacturer of this car. Like iowegian surmised, this car is a love child -- but not of a Jowett nor a Daimler. I did some snooping and found the following information about this particular vehicle.
Originally customized in the late 1950's in Southern California. Started life as a 4-Door Sedan and was customized using 56 Studebaker Taillights and quarter panels, 53/54 Studebaker Hood for the rear deck, 50's Triumph? sides (rear half of fenders and doors), custom hood louvers.
In other words, all models of this car started out as a 4-door sedan. Concentrate on the area from the windshield all the way forward; that much has been kept original. If no one guesses it within the next 48 hours I will reveal the answer. I'm guessing someone will guess it within that time since the parent car is not a rare make. |

Close but not quite Perfect. It is spelled Prefect. It's a 1951.
That is a beautiful picture of a restored Prefect you included, cdennisq. Unfortunately, it took a '51 Prefect, with 1172 cc, 49.4 sec. to make it to 60 mph. Its top speed is 62 mph. I'm guessing it is even slower than a '51 Beetle. |
