I have searched but i am not sure that i have the right idea.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

should those two holes be plugged if i am not using the heating system?
The other end that goes to the cabin has already been sealed off before it reaches the cabin. I have seen teh expansion plugs for the fan shroud side but not sure about that other circles part. If they are plugged does this effect cooling?

If you are keeping the heater boxes, then you should have those 2 connected. That supplies cooling air to the heater box, to help pull heat away from the heads.
Even when you have the heaters shut off in the car, there is still airflow through the heater box. It just dumps out under the car from the top of the heater box flap area.

Is there any reason to keep them or just go with the j pipe?

In fasty's case, seen i opted not to use the heater system due to the fact that I live in tropical, Philippines, I plugged those thing! Well, with the intentions of giving the Type 3 engine a better cooling!

If I am wrong on this, please, any sound pieces of advise are very much welcome!

Thanks!

Trust me on this one . I just went through all of this a week of so ago . Just leave the heat exchangers on and find the flex tube to connect the fan outlets to the heat exchangers . ISP West sells it and it does not fit real well but it works it is a bit too large on the Inside diameter . There is also this place
http://www.aircraftspruce.com/search/search.php?query=05-29909&searchsubmit=Search&search=1

the 2 1/4" inside diameter would fit better but no one I know of has tried it yet but it seems like a good option.

and this thread if you are brave

Have fun . remember I said nothing
