Yes, Los Angeles. The large EDISON sign on top made it easy to research- It's the Con Edison building in Long Beach, Ca. located at 1st St. and Long Beach Blvd. Perspective is looking due north at the facade, with the split LBB under construction on the left. The foreground is now occupied by the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, and The Westin Long Beach. |

Looking at Finster's second picture, it appears there are two ovals parked. There's only so much I can do in Photoshop to enhance the clarity:
The first one looks like it may be a '54 or '55.
