Wow, I removed my “KYB” front shocks and installed new Gabriel oil shocks today
on the front end of my Dune Buggy! What a difference! It’s like driving a different Dune Buggy!
It used to hit bumps and it felt like the front end was getting hit with a sledge hammer.
Now it feels like a Cadillac.
After changing the shocks, it feels like it “relaxed” the whole front end.
It feels really good. Thinking about changing out the rear KYB’s to oil shocks also. Very Happy

Do the Gabriel shocks have a model number or are they just called oil shocks?

Thanks, Deezal

I'll take a look at the boxes tonight when I get home and post it. They came in the factory boxes, so there should be something on them. Sure is a GREAT improvement. Very Happy

Where did you buy them?

My local bug shop says 2-3 weeks tell they can get them.

Local parts store only has gas filled.

Did not find them on Cip1 or moore.

Thanks

Good post. It ought to be kept as a sticky.

Did you replace the high pressure "white" KYB or the low pressure "gray" GR2 KYB?

I'm super happy with how mine rides. I raised the car up a little last weekend and like it even better. Oil is the way to go and drop those tires down to 15 or 20 PSI. This also makes a big difference.

I purchased them off E-Bay. I E-mailed the guy to see if he had any more,
he said he was out for the moment. I looked on the boxes the shocks were sent in,
the flaps that the part numbers were on were not there.
I had the
“gray” low pressure GR2 KYB gas shocks on the front. Even they were truly
“Over Kill” for the low weight front end. Anybody need a good set of KYB GR2 Gas shocks?
