That is really cool. I recall maintaining my Sturmey back in the 60s. I always wondered what was on the other end of that little chain that went into it. Found out one day. Clever little setup. Would I be remembering right that someone had a "two speed kickback" hub? I seem to recall riding one as a kid.

It sure is, IIRC the first ones were run in the tour de France, in 1907.

Yep, I really don't know much about them though.

Yep, my brother had one when we were kids. Probably 1972 or so. He made the bike a chopper with a banana seat.

Kids in my neighborhood used to invert one frame on top of another and make crazy tall bikes. Krazy long choppers by stacking 4 forks in each other or long channel iron forks.

You remember correctly. My friend Jeff had one, a CCM Mustang with the two speed hub. Came with a banana seat and ape hangers, too! Very Happy So cool.

It's that time of year again!

The road through Teton park is plowed and no cars are allowed in till May Smile

It was sunny on Tuesday, but cold, 33* F, we had a decent headwind once we turned around and headed back south, glad I wore my winter boots...
