Here is a set of forged steel 1.3 to 1 rocker arms for a stock 36 or
Okrasa head. To get the proper offset the rocker shaft is handmade from
billet tool steel hardened to 60r then drawn back to 48r. This is designed
to be a performance replacement to fit directly in a 36hp head with the
stock pushrods, valves, and springs. The shaft was really hard to get all
the offsets built-in and still be able to get the rockers on and be strong.
We’re going to be testing these under racing conditions May 16th.

It's great to see all this performance stuff for the 36hp... it's about time. _________________ Glenn

Rest of the story:
Before we went racing we had to modify the rocker covers, the lower end
of the Porsche rockers at the screw top it hit the cover a lot. We made
little hand-hammered spoon-shaped covers & brazed them on which
worked fine. The racers say my covers have boobs now.
The high lift rocker set performed perfectly & made the engine much
more responsive. The valve lift went from about .295 to approx. .385 at
the valve. The ratio must be 1.3:1 or slightly more. Modified rocker
arms similar to Blackline type could also be used with the new shaft and
everything else stock.
Just a side note, I had a chance to take a road trip and got to visit
several 36hp LSR shops. Ronnies bus shop in AZ, Justin & Art (Blackline)
in Salt Lake, and Bruce Cooks in NC. I also got to meet Whitey Worsham
from NC, Cooks Cylinder head guru. We had a day to brainstorm36hp
heads with pictures and everything. Much fun, then back to my shop.

hi folks...
today I did all the messuring stuff on the rocker geometrie..this was just the test-head..
at first i call them "medusa-rocker ratio's" all the stuff I build by my own is now medusa stuff , cam , supercharger system, engine just vor fun.
the offset is exact 4,5mm.
because off all the messurmants I did..more than 10 times every messure to calculate out the mistakes.
the exact theoretical rocker ratio is 1,3214:1 so 1,32:1 the post befor I forgott that the rockers are a bit different just 0,5mm.
the shaft is exact in level to the valves.
rocker and valve match very good.
for the racers:
1,34:1 is possible with these rockers..but it is it's max.
with my cam it should be about 0.480" lift max. an the EX. and 0.470" on the IN. |
