I would not use the pump in the first link. |

First link - both the pump and the radiator are junk. I'd recommend one of the purpose-built Bosch intercooler pumps and a true water radiator, not the cheap steel-painted-to-look-like-aluminum oil cooler shown.
Second link, don't bother, not as efficient as the first design.
Oh- and for the radiator to be of any use - it must be placed in the nose of the van where it receives hi-pressure airflow. |

my biggest issue is space as i`ve used the tdi manifolds. the small barrel cooler will fit a treat but i`m not sure i can get the bigger unit to fit.
the only way i can see to incorporate a charge cooler, enclosed air filter and the dust trap is to run the air intake over to the right side of the engine bay.
anyone know what sort of rating i should be aiming for. guessing i`ll be making 110 / 120hp max ahu mti.
thanks lee. |

cheers. neat install. mine`s a syncro so the fuel tank is in the way to fit there. i`ll have to mock up a dummy cooler and see where i can fit it in. thanks again lee. |

If I had to do it again i'd go with a barrel cooler mounted between the intake & the sheetmetal. Less plumbing, less chance of boost leaks & just all around 100% easier. _________________ Gone but not forgotten - 1991 Carat - AAZ transmogriffied to mTDi.

I like the Turbonetics 2-252 but that one seems NLA, so have started using the smallest unit from frozenboost/siliconeintakes, the 'Type 9'. The last one I built would deliver intake air to the engine within 30 degrees F. of ambient at even the highest summer temps here. |
