|
|
Ok, so I have sold many sets of my PC Thing windows on here, let's see some pictures of them installed!
If you have bought a set and can....would you please post some photos of them?
Yes, I'm finally getting caught up on my back orders of my other products that I make after my March 17th black hole day....for those that didn't know..on March 17th I was diagnosed with type 2 (I guess I need to buy a VW Bus now..lol) Diabetes and later that same night my sister (her & myself own the homestead and all 3x of us, my wife included...lived there) had a massive heart attack and died. Without any Will too!
I will be trying to get back unto the new master for the driver side Thing window that will be 3/32" to 1/8" thick and a larger hinged area (then stock) to open and get your fast food thru!
I still have not found a supplier for black piano hinges and the latch will may be a simple hardware store item to keep the costs down.
On the PC Thing windows...any feedback or design changes that you would like to see? Like a little larger window for more overlap attachment?
I have also yet again change PC suppliers as the blue printed protective film was not up to my spec's after painting a black border on some of the same material PC Race car windows.
Thank you, JM. _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

Thank you for the kind words.
I'll check them out for the Black hinges, but I'll guess I have to get some hinges black oxide for me.
On the Lexan...that is a GE brand name for their polycarbonate (PC). But GE sold off their plastics business many years ago....
I have since found another USA made PC supplier since I go thru 50+ sheets a year as I'm also the ACVW race car window maker too! _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

Thanks gotmanx for the photos! may I use them for ads on the Thing windows?
Thanks to the kind words from the other guys. It is getting a little easier lately as my dad did have the house in a trust with provision the house was 50% / 50% with my sister and myself and on condition of a death, it passes down to the last member of the family...me. With the house safe and no probate.....yippe!
I'm still digging thru my back orders and I'm trying to spend at lest 1 day a week on new products designs (most Bus ABS panels)...but some times it is 1 step forward...and 2 steps backwards. But I will get to the hinge Thing window in the near future.
I'll be offering Thing hood and deck lid seals and the long pinch welt (1x piece, not 2x like the OEM was...) too. I have the material in stock right now, have done the measurements and just have to set prices, cut them and bag them up!
What about stainless steel or chrome hinge.....? _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

those look great!
i would be interested in the black piano though. as my thing will be white with a black top. and my thoughts are "if it dont go, chrome it!".
but those are really nice windows, and in about a year i will be needing a set. any price info would be appriciated.
thanks

Loius, thank you for the feedback! I'm thinking of having these hinged windows to be drill and mounted thru the steel frame inside the vinyl covering as with opening and close will tear the old vinyl covering, if they were mounted on the edge like my standard ones are.
The PC windows are $60 for 4x of the .060" thick PC material and $80 for the .090" thick PC (half off if you only want to buy a pair instead of 4x). They are listed in the classifieds section for Things! _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

Mount them on the outside. Should be no water coming from that area but with tops not fitting down and other non water seals in a Thing.... _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!

I made windows for my car, and I put holes through the frame at the four corners and through the vinyl only in between, I figured this was a good compromise between strength and water-tightness. I also made them out of acylic, besides being cheaper than polycarbonate, they are more scratch resistant and will not yellow (but they are more brittle.. polycarbonate is almost indestructible and you can bend it to the point of folding almost.)
Has anyone considered these types of sliding vents like used on race cars and gliders? There might be some that are almost the side of a drivers window itself.

Werksberg,
I have been all over your catalog from stem to stern but cannot find the side curtains with opening "glass". Can you advise?

SS, I asked on here if owners would be interested in a opening flap on my PC (I don't do glass) windows and there was little to no interest. Not worth my time as this is my lively hood.
But if you look upward several threads, a guy was generously to post how he used my PC windows and added a piano hinge from Home Depot.
IMO, that little OEM flap opening is useless but I would make it longer.
I would never use acrylic (PMMA) as it shatters way too easy. Even if you tighten the fasteners to much it will crack or the high or cold weather will expand or contract PMMA to breaking.
They yellowing on plastic comes from people using glass cleaners on plastic....DON'T, only use plastic wax / polishes. Plus plastic wax / polishes prevent scratches and polishes them out too. _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!
