Yep. No driving with it open. Now it might be nice for ventilation while sleeping however.

@ Stella - Thanks!

I have a safari in the back of mine as well. With an exhaust that comes out the side of the bus behind the rear wheel, my vent window cranked open (I dont have camper side windows), and the right rear window adjustment, it is possible to drive with it open. I keep mine open at all times and occasionally get a wiff at a stop light or something but overall, it keeps the fumes out pretty well. Very Happy

Bus looks great!

Nice job! Looks great.

Someone please explain the easy off and 0000 steel wool. We spent an entire day on my project using rubbing compound, and only got one side and the back. The part that's done is smooth, really smooth.

Should I use easy off or continue the rubbing compound?

Doesn't the easy off method scratch?

Mine didnt scratch at all. 0000 steel wool is fairly softish. Honestly I should follow up on my bus with rubbing compound to bring the paint back, but I never did. EZ off seems to have different effects on different paint jobs. Mine was rattle can. Try it in a small area, but for best results, compound is a good plan.

Thank you. Compound worked great. Rubbing it on was a snap but taking it off takes forever and it's hard.

My problem were my lowering plates. They pushed the wheel out a half inch. I rolled the fender lip, and since mine is a beater mostly anyway, I pulled on the fenders just a touch to let the wheels slide in.

The issue with the pics are that they are hosed on a photo site instead of here. I would love to go back and host them all here, but the time has elapsed for me to edit my post. This thread was started before I hosted all my pics for threads here on here. Sorry.

Dam i bet you wish you just keep it in the first place, But the selling of the bus did get you a little further on it and got you some free stuff as the pictures show. I love the bus i wish i could get one like that but no one in AZ sells stuff for a good price, they always want 2 time what they can get. Even the junk yards want at least 2 grand on there smashed up bays. Keep up the pictures.

Great thread, cool red bus for sure! I like the rear safari alot too. I quoted the rubbing compound guy because he said it was hard to remove the compound. Well, that's because you don't use rubbing compound like you are waxing the car. You are washing the car and use the compound with a wet rag and have the hose running too, keep everything wet, never let the clay dry on the car. Wink
