Hmm, I think its a great idea any time someone makes something that is Type-3 specific. But IMO the price seems high. Also how can something be "rare" thats just being made now......? Maybe I'm jumping the gun here. They might just be a damn good repro. I mean if they look "identical" to a real one, then great! I have never researched original tach's, but If I remember correctly.... they aren't all that rare, and/or that expensive. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm not at all bashing this ad, just simply starting a discussion here. I'm sure the seller will chime in.

Sellers quote:
OK folks what we have here is a small run of a few but very rare type3 Tach's I will be taking orders for them & require a cash deposit of 200 & balance when shipped. All dealings are in cash only I will have some photos of what they will look like soon Also when you place order make sure to tell me gray or black face & what max rpm IE: will have 12 volt only @ this time if enough orders come in will be a 6volt run maybe? anyway I need to know things like red needle & 6,7,8K rpm?
will be made with VDO guts & have a very close OE look as possible If there is a market for them I will try to do 6 volt unit but not @ this time...OH yeah they come with a one year warranty & can be made for some EFI & eletronic hooks-ups
may take up to 3-4 months depending on how fast they go? all cash refunded if I don't get @ least a dozen takers! _________________ Justin

Make it look just like the original VDO above and you will have a winner.

Dammit! Now I gotta walk around work with a chubby. The mere thought of this coming from the House of ISP makes me happy in the pants. If it looks like this, you can definitely count me in for one. I'm a long-time member of the jonesin'-for-one-forever club. _________________ Mike S.

I know it's a longshot, but I'd dig a Type 34 spin off of the ISP tach |

A Type 34 Tach from ISP? Sure--I'd be in line for that. |
