And soon youŽd miss the internet and 1000 other things and get bored by all the splits around wich are worth nearly nothing.

Screw the internet. You'd be entertained just knowing whats going to happen next. With that "knowing" it would be easy to invest in those Splits, both Beetle and the Gold mine Bus.

Would that disrupt the space time continuum. Anxious

I had read that the REME workshop closed down in 1949, but apparently it continued into the 1950s. Who knows how many cars were rebuilt in total. (And barndoors too!)

No that is an awful bended, z-shaped bumper like used after bad accidents.

Wow!

BAOR British Army Of The Rhine - Beetles, also RAF etc. crazy all those 1953 Zwitter and 53/54 Standard Oval Sunroof cars, seems the British Army in Germany was partial to ordering Sunroof cars for service, I've seen many period photos with them driving around......

I personally owned a Glockner Type 9 Beetle, which was a reconditioned/rebuilt car from spare parts - wrecks - while 1944/46 and 1948 parts were in my car.

Howdy, visiting from the vanagon area, admiring the work of you folks who make beautiful cars from piles of dust and came across this and gotta say I'm a little spooked as my grandfather was a serviceman killed in a post-war car crash in Germany. So I can't help but look at some of those that looked fatal and wonder,,,
