This place is amazing and has lots of great art to take pictures of your van in front of. In the Upper Peninsula just East of Marquette.
Definitely worth a drive through. The artist is phenomenal. |

Vulcan Alberta Canada
Named by the CPR in the 19th century, Vulcan once had nine grain
elevators, the most west of Winnipeg at the time. Now grain goes
different ways and the town is <1500 people.
The Trekkies used to come just to take a picture in front of the water
tower. Would have loved to see the council meeting when the money
for this little project came up.
But if you build it, they will come!! Leonard Nimoy came more than once.

Took my Cub Scouts to an outdoor expo today. Learned about all sorts of outdoor activities, advocacy groups, environmental concerns, and 'outdoor life'.
Thought it appropriate to finally find the site I had been trying to remember to go when I passed, but never have until now. One of America's folk heroes.

Nah, parked on the overgrown pea gravel road around the perimeter of the 18th-19th century cemetery.
Wondered if this would weird people out? As a 10th generation here in this country, Son of the American Revolution and family historian, I have spent many hours in New England cemeteries confirming historical accuracies and setting flags upon veteran graves.
Maybe grown indifferent, still very respectful, but indifferent to the symbols that may be taboo to some. I see the markers as something to be read, contemplated, revered and remembered as part of our cumulative history, not forgotten weathered chunks of stone in which the plots are only used by the youth of our nation as a place to consume over abundance of alcohol.
All listed on the RoadsideAmerica.com website btw. That's how I found Johnny Appleseed's as well. Born in Leominster, Massachusetts, ended up in Fort Wayne.
If offensive, kite me an email and I'll take it off _________________ Its a mistress; an expensive, whiney, needy bitch of a mistress. I also grew up in New England and cemeteries abound. You can stumble across forgotten plots in the forests real easily and its common if your an active kid. You grow indifferent to cemeteries as a New England youngster. Always respectful but just definitely desensitized. _________________ Support Small Business.

Pictures of a tombstone is OK but your parked in a cemetery, that's just wrong.
A local cop in the next town over was sitting on a hill inside a cemetery shooting Radar, his shift supervisor wasn't happy when he was ousted, a public apologize was issued |

It was on a road! A road in the cemetery. Nothing wrong with that.

Skull-themed laundromat AND showers.
Don't think I've ever seen a laundromat that offered showers. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

Staunton VA during the holidays. You might think this is simply a toppled foam reindeer but note all four feet on the ground. This is actually a complex yoga pose. Maybe.
