Thanks. I wasn't saying you did.

I really was just hoping there was going to be some "non stock" rides let in.

I'm sure John C. is working hard on Kimball for a year specific class for that style. It would be nice to see those cars on the grass. Wink

From what I can gather.

"Non stock" cars all welcome, but there is not going to be a special class for them to enter in.

So a bone stock '50 vert would be in the same class as a lowered '50 vert with aftermarket wheels, etc.

Dropping $100 to enter a car and hang out with some like minded people while checking out some cool rides sounds like a deal to me.

Not to mention just coming in as a spectator for $15 if you don't have a car to enter.

So wait, it's $100 to take my ride to a show where I won't have to be surrounded by a bunch of slammed, rusted (oops, I mean "patinaed"), dechromed VWs with BRMs? If I pay $200 can I get that for two shows this year? Smile

Seriously, this is a great show with amazing cars. The couchbuilts are great, the military vehicles are crazy and the rest are as incredible. The show is organized, and feels very different from any other show I've been to in the US. Last year there were a few custom cars too if I recall. In fact, looking at the results on the website I can see that at least two got an award.

If you're not into the stock vintage scene, there's every other single show to attend. If you are into it, or just have an appreciation for them then don't miss this one.

x2 and while i doubt that's $100 worth of stuff it is a way to keep hoodrides out.

I'm seriously considering bringing my ghia out for this show this year. I need to try to borrow an enclosed trailer though - my open trailer aint cutting it for that distance.

Hey guys I figured I should pop in here with an update. As far as the topic of “custom” cars being allowed at the Treffen, this is what we came up with. Any car that meets our year/model requirements can enter the event. We’re not going to revoke anyone admittance if there car is too low, or perhaps too bright Wink What everyone needs to realize is there are no specific Custom Classes set aside, only the classes we already have in place. So like I mentioned to Josh with the heb, he would be placed in the same coachbuilt class with everyone else. Custom cars will most likely be parked together (no not stashed away in some corner) but just like in 2007, parked next to each other in a row. It just makes for a better presentation that way. I hope this clears everything up, and if anyone has any questions just drop me an email. [email protected]

Also I just updated the 2009 Treffen post with new information about the Rallye, Host Hotel, Show Classes and much more. Click HERE to check it out.

Kevin,
Hope you'll make it. I would like to see your low light ghia.
