Anyone out there rig up a thermostatically controlled electric fan to draw in cool air for the engine. Last summer we had 21 days in a row over a hundred and the engine in my 62 single cab got a little hot.

I havent done it in a bus, but I use them for my woodie and on the current project. Not sure if I would bother with a thermostat - just a switched toggle may be better. Anyway, check out someplace like summitracing and they have a wide range of sizes and prices. Even just adding 400 or so CFM can help a lot in slow traffic. But in both of mine, I am counting on the fan to really help a lot - so I have more like 800 CFM.

The problem with the thermostat is trying to figure out a good place to put the sensor.

You have to think thru how you want it it work - I use a relay fed from the battery and a switched hot lead with a "bypass" switch to turn it off if I wish. If you have any unused idiot lights in the speedo, you can use one for a fan on (or off) indicator.
