The top one 17X7 polished/painted wheel is 38mm offset (for "most" link pin front with a 4" narrowed beam)
The second one 17X7 full polished wheel is 12mm offset (for "most" swing short axle rear)
The last one is a 17X10 that Schott Wheels threw together for me for the VW Classic. The offset of that wheel I'm not sure of but I can find out, definitely not a wheel you can just bolt onto a bug without suspension mods. But it sure looks bitchin!
Basically the offsets or these wheels are such that you build your suspension and we should be able to accomodate any offset between 12mm and 80mm or most widths you need, these are all custom built per your specs. You wont find another forged early Fuchs-style wheel this custom anywhere in the world. Thanks

The prototypes are beefy at 22 LBS, but the production wheels should be in the upper teens when done, I hope around 17-18LBS. THere are areas we can shave weight and not sacrifice strength

Production wheels are going to take a few weeks. The price is estimated to be $550 each. These are made here in the US so definitely no problem getting them to you. All of the centers will be precut so turn around time will be alot less. Alot of time and money has been spent making sure these are as accurate as possible to original 15's. Ask anyone who saw them at the VW Classic, these are killer! For the first run I'm only building about 12 sets.
any pics of them on a early beetle?? im also trying to decide 15s or 17s.

Working on getting some pics of the wheels installed, I literally recieved the prototypes friday night at Nicks during the Classic weekend.
cool i will wait to see pics before deciding pls send me a pm when u get them

Great looking wheels, I've been looking for some 17" Fuchs for ever. Please let me know when you have some ready and what the price will be, I'd be interested in a pair.

I was there for this photo shoot today and I can't say enough about the quality of these wheels. These things are going to satisfy the pickiest of customers. All of you who have been looking/waiting for a larger (17" +) fuch, you will not be disappointed.

Paul, As I said this afternoon, I would like to go on record saying that I will take the first available set of the fully polished front and rears the same offset that we used today. I'm sure this is no surprise though.

These are prototypes, the die is being built that will form the forged center before machining. The company that is doing the work said they are about 3 weeks from cutting the die. Then it will probably be another couple of weeks before the actual centers are finished. There are going to be 12 sets the first run so I am currently putting an email list together of the people seriously interested. I appologize for any delays this may cause. Until the die is finished we are at the mercy of the die builder, after that Schott wheels is ready to go with building the wheels. I have been showing the prototypes off to get feedback on changes we may need to make before we go into production and also to see if people really like the larger look of the new wheel.
Thank you for the interest so far.

The tires are 205/40/17s front and rear
Wheel offset in the front is 38mm and the rear is 12mm
Steves suspension is narrow swing axle/drum brakes/wheel adapters in the rear. In the front he is running a 6" narrowed beam/drum brakes/wheel adapters.
