A/C shop that says they are familiar with Vanagons!!

I'm still stunned by the fact that I visited a shop that specializes in automotive A/C systems, and the guy there said "oh yeah, we know the Vanagon system well". I stood there slack-jawed for a moment, as I've never heard any repair shop say that!!

He went on to ask me "do you just have the rear unit, or does your van have the optional Behr unit in the dash?" Holy crap, they really do know something about it!

So, I'll be driving my van to work tomorrow and running it by there for them to tell me what I need to get the system up and running. I am very much a "if I can do it myself, I will" kind of driveway mechanic, but I've never mastered the art of A/C servicing. I've tried before on a different vehicle, and just didn't "get it". I'll pay an expert to get me some cool A/C
