67 T3 Swing Axle

I am really curious if
1. anyone sees anything missing from the list below? or any recommendations.
2. What do people recommend for the Throw-Out Shaft/Fork/Arm thing? Are the bugpack HD kits worth a crap? I have read about some having fitment issues etc... I just want it to go as smoothly as possible.

thanks in advance, H

only reason I thought to go with stage one is to avoid all the BS I read about the SACHS clutches. I seem to see far less bitching about the Kennedy quality.

So you think its overkill? They are a few bucks cheaper too, but that wasnt my motive.

I have been installing clutches in VW's for the last 45 years. I have never had a problem with a Sachs clutch.

are you die hard on the German only Sachs or is the Brazilian clutch just as good?

I use what I can get. I have not had a problem with German, or Brazilian clutches.
Only time you need to go to a Kennedy, is if you have really high performance.
A friend of mine has a Kennedy 1700 lb in his car, and it will not handle his 7600 rpm shifts when it is hot.

I have a kennedy 1700lb w/ sachs non-sprung rigid disk in my '66 squareback. A little heavy on the foot in traffic. Also broke the clutch pedal & cable once already. I am running a stock sachs brazil pressure plate w/ sachs non-sprung rigid disc in my '68 squareback. No problems out of the sachs pressure plate. I would use a rigid (non-sprung) clutch disc instead of the sprung clutch disc.

Make sure your new flywheel is NOT a cast unit.

What's the opinion on the throw out shaft replacement? Go with the somewhat pricey BugPack kit? Is that overkill as well? Do the fit worth a crap? Are the included bushing and clips good as well? Thanks again

The bushing/clip kit I had bought mail order years ago was so bad I reused my old parts. Some of them are crap! Unfortunately, I can't tell you where I bought it, making my post pretty useless...
