Sacramento is in the tank...some homes have lost 2/3 of their value since 2007...how is it where you live?

Market Correction.

Value's are fine. In fact they're still going up for the middle priced homes around here.

Here too.

Homes in Elk Grove (south of Sac) were selling for well over 500K- the market NEEDED a correction especially in California.

My Tax assessor just told me mine is worth more. Anyway, he raised the evaluation, and my tax bill.

Average home price in Calgary is $425,182
Down a little from last year, but still one of the most expensive in Canada.
Calgary has been affected by the downturn, but only slightly.

Our home has receded to about 2005 values. We are very fortunate given the pummeling Southeastern Michigan has gotten.

My assesment just went down 28k. First time ever for me. If this was the last house I was planning to own, then it would be cool, sorta bittersweet.

Our value dipped a little (about 5%) at the beginning of the year but has since gone up another 10%. We're in Seattle.

I know, but your wife likes the expensive brand of chocolate syrup and whipped cream.

(don't tell her I said that, for god's sake)

I'm in Central Florida, and housing values got SLAMMED here for those unfortunate enough to get caught up in the hype. Average sale price went from $240k last year to $130k last month according to the news the other day. I'm not really affected because we built our house at the first signs of the boom, have a 30 year fixed loan at a fair rate, and aren't planning on going anywhere.

House prices are pretty steady here in eastern Iowa. But then, our area never got into a housing bubble the way the coasts did.
