That's a great attitude to have. Consider removing the T3 cool tins, too.
With the stock heads and a smaller exhaust collector, you should have a nice little combo.
What about a sump? You can get 1.5 qt. sumps pretty cheap.
One of these days, down the road, throw a set of dual Kads or ICT's on it for a few more ponies.

Even 1600 cc with stock heads it won't be stock performance with the C25 cam. The difference is like driving with the carb only opening up to 3/4 throttle or full throttle. See if they will trade heads and a little money for a set of HD springs. You can also sell/ trade your crank and get a 74 mm stroke crank. A 74 mm from CB is only $179.00 Barrel spacers are around $10.00. With a 1699 and the C 25 cam it will be easy accelerating into traffic and cruising down the highway. If your speedo is inoperative you might even get a ticket for speeding.

Did you ever get this thing running? just toss the teflon buttons and the T3 cool tin. all else is fine. 8.9 to 1 CR is good with that cam, id have gone a tad higher with 9- 9.5 to 1.
Also would get some good dual carbs. baby dells or 36 drla's or 40 idfs. Smile

For crying out loud. Crank that thing already. If you did your work properly, she will be fine and then some.

If you build it like a race motor, it better perform like a race motor. Otherwise, what is the point?
