BDMike's bus and the Beltek bus shared the same hibernation place for many years with another '52 Barndoor and numerous splitscreen beetles and ovals and some more splitscreen busses! The treasures we found in that farm! Every VW nut's wet dream what those guys had in storage there! |

I must have some pics somewhere I've moved from Belgium to the US so they are around somewhere under a pile of dust! If I find them I'll scan them and post them ! These were taken somewhere in the 90's at an undisclosed farm in a small town in Belgium |

This is special to Belgium. All the barndoor have here a tag with mentions of the car from the importer dieteren. The mines,Beltek(on the side doglegds) and this one have it.I think all of Belgium busses with grooved bumper has it!
Now i want to say with that bus that my 2 barndoors and this one don't have Frese reflectors but Stimsonite ones...I think that beltek had it also before...so THese 3 busses are original so i'm not sure that Frese was the only manufacter for every country in the world.
Thanks for your detailled pictures dude.See you at chimay!!!! |
Laurant, I am in your country at the moment. FRANCE.

Yes, I'm on Le Tour de France. But my own tour, oui.
Yves Saint Laurant - I am with Pepe of VINTAGE IMPORT in St Victurnien, 20 kilometers outside of Limoges. I go see Carrot on Thursday. Oui.
Tim - Lyon was quick.
please note: this entire post was said in a southern Limoges dialect accent. |

Thanks Low54
Plans are :
year 1 : Loose the reductionboxes , so I have to lower the front ( Damn !! ) A redone 1600 sp will push me around .
Weld up all the bad and repaint the spots ( kinda like Paul Wisk does )
year 2 : put in a campingbox , as it is an original camper ( so it say's on the papers , there was just a bit left on it : wooden floor , a little bit of wooden stuff just above the engine compartement and so on )
Put on a full length roofrack and a hidden pop-top ( as the roof allready has a big hole made in it by ....?)
year 3 : repaint the lot , but that's to far away for me to tell what color it's gonna be . People who know me, know that's a big problem for me , even my dwive doesn't listen anymore when I'm talking colors .

hi 49Barndoor,
...I can't give you Sébastien Corne's adress or number, I haven't seen him for at least 7-8 years, but I know who you can ask this: contact Pascal, his '51 panelvan came from the same guy you bought yours from!! Pascal is known here as Panelvan

Yes I have spoke with Pascal a few times about Sabastien but he too no longer has up to date contact details
Sebastien never owned my panel it was owned by Laurent Dutruell when the tag was removed and I got the bus from Laurent.
It was Laurent that told me Sebastien had the tag but only when I went to pick the bus up, Prior to this I was told the tag was still fitted to the bus, That would have been nice but not the case |

Damn I feel the pain BDMike must be feeling to lower this bus I'm surprised the bus wasn't lowered on the first week of ownership, I'm sure EBI 3 must have something to do with it!
As far to the fact that his wife doesn't listen to his colorschemes lol I know that feeling all too well, I'm sure it's not the only thing she ain't listening to anymore when it comes to his toys! LOL
I'm pretty sure whatever BDMike will do to his bus it will be appreciated by most on this forum and the VW World! |
