Thom,

It's been a while. Very nice Hitch work. Thanks for sharing the pictures of the ball bending jig. What steal are you using?

Hope that picture helps you for the press bumper.

The electrical holder on page 1 was made by me. I have not made them in a while as there was not enought interest. If i can get interest in a batch then i can re-make them.

Hi all;

I have an original post pressed bumper Westy hitch, complete and with tag for sale for $1500 obo. It is in Germany, so it will need to be shipped to the US, unless someone in Europe is interested in it. It is stored at a friend's house in Frankfurt. PM if interested.

Now I just need some measurements from an original pressed-bumper hitch. I looked at 3 buses with repro bumpers, and got 3 different sets of dimensions.

I'll try and get it this weekend. So busy and the hitch is not at the house.

Actually, I'm hoping that anyone else with one would chime in - it seems there's 2 or 3 variations on the theme.

What would be the best way to ship one of these to Nova Scotia?

You should be able to ship it door to door via FedEx freight.

When i was shipping these in from Europe to the USA shipping jumped from ~$250 to over $600 when gas started going up. That was the end of that.....

I'm surprised - FedEx ground is "only" a little over $100 - I didn't even consider them because I thought they'd be a lot more. I read somewhere to avoid UPS because of bizarre customs charges.

I just shipped 3 Porsche Fuchs to Switzerland. I went through the USPS, it was the most cost effective, least customs, easy to deal with.

USPS is super easy. Go through them for anything that is not oversize. Each country has specific weight and size limitations. USPS website lists these. I don't think you can track the parcels, though. I could be on crack.

So today I worked on created the bumper tab for a pressed bumper hitch.

Does anyone have pix of a pressed-bumper hitch actually mounted up? It seems like getting the hitch installed with the bumper on would be a PITA. You'd have to hook in the bumper tab, and then attach the hitch to the torsion tube.

6 hours of work to get this:

that looks like a serious bumper trashing implement there. while i imagine it adds some support i would think utilization of something between the bumper brackets would be more substancial
