So one of the last things to check on my list on the van before a long trip was the wheel bearing grease. I pulled of the dust cap on the passenger side and it looked nice and thick and juicy. The pads were about 30-40% left. Wheel bearings running smooth.

The dangerous assumption was that the driver's side was in the same condition. There was about 2mm of pad left and the caliper was stuck.

Why did I assume it was ok? Well in April it was safety inspected which here in Nova Scotia means that the wheels are pulled and brake systems checked. Not so in this case.

Anyhow, removed and freed up the stuck piston and installed some new pads. It's kinda neat having the front end dip a bit when you apply the brakes...kinda neat indeed!

After the fuel lines...check the brakes!

Brian.
