All I can say is after getting the Thing I’m restoring done I’ll never do another one. I’ve restored multiple bugs and buses and I’ve never had the headaches with the price of parts as you do with a thing. I know all parts are going up but it seems every part for a thing is made of gold.

It’s insane how much all the rubber items cost. As well as metal replacement panels and fenders. Rolling Eyes

Are these made out of gold?

Someone should email him telling him he has a typo and offering him $38.00 for it, and then ask if he will include shipping at that price.

The number 38 sure does seem to be popular with Things:

Everett is right, I do have several Nos wiper motors and have sold some over the years to people that prefer NOS over rebuilt. You may not be aware that these Thing wiper motors are NLA. As far as my pricing, I believe that it is very reasonable when you consider that the 2 main vendors for Thing parts sell their rebuilt motors (with no core) for about $450. I hope I've answered your curiosity regarding my ad.

The add is approaching 6 years old?

It sounds like he has multiples and is also selling rebuilt ones through the ad so that probably explains the duration

Some people think Thing parts are made of gold. If your part doesn't sell in a year or more after posting, maybe you're asking too much.

Luckily, I live close by (20 miles away from Jeff the mom) so I can save on shipping and pick it up in person.

I spent a little over $52,000 on the car I just restored so $3800. just doesn't seem like a lot to me.

Not hard to do, especially with the prices he pays for parts.

If I bought all of my parts from him I would spend $351,565,333.61 on a restoration.
