Still sorting thru the dash on my 73.
Trying to match wiring diagram to the wires I have and to the actual cluster.
1. Does anyone have a good photo or diagram of just the backside of the cluster?
2. Can someone please i.d. #1 and #2 in this pic? Im not wrapping my head around all of the different terminals as they relate to the wiring diagram
Thx again!

#1 is called a vibrator, essentially a mechanical form of a volt regulator. It should be connected to a black wire (Circuit 15) and a terminal of the fuel gauge.
#2 is the fuel gauge. Should never be connected directly to Circuit 15 (Black wire) otherwise it will burn out pretty quickly.
If you haven't already, you should download the wiring diagram in the technical section of the forum.

Maybe this will help.

It also appears the spade is broken off the back of your vibrator? _________________ - 1973 Thing, some LandCruisers and an old Ambulance |
